Texel Air Completes Fleet Modernization with Addition of New Boeing 737-800(BCF)

Texel Air, operating from Bahrain International Airport, recently enhanced its fleet with the acquisition of an additional Boeing 737-800(BCF). This latest delivery marks the completion of the airline’s fleet renewal initiative, transitioning from Boeing Classic to Next Generation (NG) freighters.

Registered temporarily as N2937C (msn 29374), the 17.2-year-old aircraft arrived in Bahrain on April 30, straight from Boeing’s conversion facility in Jinan. “This state-of-the-art aircraft is poised to replace our oldest aircraft, the Boeing 737-300(F),” Texel Air shared on LinkedIn.

The airline has been progressively phasing out its Boeing 737-300s, replacing them with the more modern NG models. Besides msn 29374, Texel Air currently operates two other Boeing 737-800(BCFs) and maintains two Boeing 737-700(FC)s, although these are temporarily inactive. Its sister carrier, Texel Air Australasia based at Auckland International, includes four Boeing 737-800(BCFs) in its fleet.

“The integration of msn 29374 into our fleet harmonizes our global operations and enhances efficiency,” Texel Air stated. “This upgrade significantly broadens our capabilities and extends our reach to more destinations, providing our clients with superior service and increased flexibility.”

The newly incorporated aircraft was leased from AerCap, marking Texel Air’s first major engagement with the leasing company. Previously, the aircraft served with Air China, based at Beijing Capital, prior to its conversion.
