Hong Kong Airlines receives its first A321-200
The airline (HX, Hong Kong International) has welcomed an A321-200 into its fleet, marking the first of its kind among the airline’s all-Airbus lineup. The aircraft, registered as B-LPR (MSN 4315), previously operated by Vietnam Airlines (VN, Hanoi Noi Bai International) under VN-A367, arrived in Hong Kong on lease from AerCap earlier this month. It is undergoing maintenance checks before it begins revenue flights, which are anticipated to start within the next month.
The A321 is poised to enter service soon. Additionally, it recently secured agreements to lease two more A320-200s, expected to arrive shortly. Earlier this month, ch-aviation reported comments from the airline’s Chairman, Sun Jianfeng, who mentioned that the airline plans to receive eight new aircraft this year, including A320, A321, and A330 models. He also noted that they anticipate a similar influx of new aircraft over the next few years now that the airline is profitable and has emerged from a restructuring phase. A spokesperson from the company confirmed to Ch-aviation that they expect to receive a “few more” A321s this year.
In addition to B-LPR, their fleet fleet consists of 27 aircraft, including twelve A320-200s, five A330-200s, and ten A330-300s. The airline operates flights to 31 airports across 10 countries.
