The Innovative Cabin Crew app of EFBOne

Digital technology has revolutionized many sectors, and the aviation industry is no exception. IFS has released its newest iteration tailored specifically for cabin crew members.

The new cabin crew app of EFBOne empowers the cabin crew with direct access to vital flight data and creates a more cohesive and effective communication platform between the cockpit and the cabin. Moreover, the EFB admin can choose which tabs from the regular EFBOne layout will be visible on the cabin crew app, allowing a customized view and role definition, thereby refining the scope of work for the crew.

The cabin crew app of EFBOne operates through a tablet, making it highly portable and easy to use in the often-cramped conditions of an aircraft. The airline can create separate accounts for cabin users. Once logged in as a cabin user, the crew member has access to the flight reporting but can see only a part of it. This selective sharing ensures the crew receives relevant and necessary information while avoiding the clutter of superfluous data.

In the example, the left device is the captain, and the right one is the cabin crew. Using our demo setup, the cabin crew is filling the crew details while the captain performs fuel analysis and calculation for preflight.

However, the true innovation of the cabin crew app of EFBOne lies in its cross-feeding capability. After filling in the required information, such as cabin inspection results, the system cross-feeds this information with the captain’s device. This feature allows for real-time data sharing between the cockpit and the cabin, leading to improved coordination and communication within the flight crew.

Coming back to our example, after the captain is done, the cabin crew member cross-feeds the information and updates the captain’s device without interrupting.

The captain can thus access the cabin inspection data directly from their device, incorporate it into the flight reporting, and then submit it. This cross-feeding process eliminates the traditional back-and-forth of physical paper, reducing potential errors and saving valuable time.

Moreover, this capability ensures that all flight data – from cockpit to cabin – is stored in a unified, digital format. This facilitates easier auditing and analysis for continual operational improvements.

The new cabin crew app of EFBOne empowers the cabin crew with direct access to vital flight data. It creates a more cohesive and effective communication platform between the cockpit and the cabin. As more airlines adopt this technology, passengers can expect improved service and safety on their flights, and airlines can look forward to enhanced operational efficiency.

The development of this innovative technology reinforces the concept that digital transformation is the future of the aviation industry. It symbolizes a significant step forward in maximizing the potential of EFBs and underlines the growing recognition of cabin crew members’ integral role in airline operations.
